The Role of Circularity in Achieving a Net-Zero Economy
Time & Location
The modern world is built on consumption patterns that are heavily dependent on extractive economic models and a constant depletion of resources. Our systems are very good at "taking", but not very good at "recovering" the used materials. How do we move away from the current linear economy of "take-make-dispose" that is built on planned obsolescence and short-term use? How do we ensure that we reuse as much as we can, and design out waste from the beginning of a product's lifecycle? In this series of webinars, we invite prominent speakers and businesses to answer these questions and shed light on innovative strategies for a circular economy. In this very first webinar we invite Camilla Kampmann, Associate Partner for Sustainability Services at IBM to discuss about the role of circularity in mitigating climate risks. Camilla has over 25 years of experience from the IT industry and 14 years of experience from insurance boards, but for the past 7 years she has focused on sustainable business models. Currently, she is building IBM's Nordic Sustainability Services. We are proud to have Camilla as part of judging committee for DANSIC21 Circular Challenge among many others inspiring professionals. After Camilla's presentation, we will be joined by Tina Karme, CEO and Co-founder of Sustory and Outi Korpinen, Head of Sustainability at Adelante Americas. Given their extensive experience in the field, we are very curious to find out from Tina and Outi what can be done to move the circularity agenda forward.
